April the 12th, 2024 – The Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform has been presented as the new premium tourism gem of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK).
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, HGK President Luka Burilović stated that “tourism is Croatia’s most important export product. It’s a very important generator of growth and development across many regions, but our attitude is changing as to what kind of tourism this country wants. We also need to see what we need to do in order to profit from this important sector in the long term, as well as how we can manage all challenges and risks. Croatia has premium brands, but the full development of this type of offer requires high-quality coordination of key stakeholders, joint performance on the international market and the development of projects that will create a new premium offer.”

The new Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform thus brings together HGK members from the hotel and catering/hospitality sector, campsites, marinas, holiday villas, travel agencies and charter companies.
“I’m sure that the new Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform will be another step forward in strengthening the Croatian tourist offer. We know that today, Croatia is becoming recognised across the world not only as a “sunshine and sea” destination, but as a safe and high-quality destination that attracts tourists in every season. This has been confirmed by the excellent tourist and financial results that prove that the development of year-round and sustainable tourism is possible if we provide tourists with a quality offer, but also present that offer in a high quality way. This is precisely why I believe that this new platform, which unites the entire premium offer in a single place, will be another step forward in profiling the country as a quality boutique destination”, stressed Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sport.
“In 2024, tourists place more value on the variety and quality of what they’re offered, and not only on accommodation and food and wine – but experiences. This new platform for premium tourism brings together companies with a top-quality offer from across seven industries that will work together to make Croatia a premium brand of sustainable, year-round tourism,” said Andreja Vukojević, HGK’s director of the Tourism Sector.

The Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform is a concrete action taken in favour of the Sustainable Tourism Development Strategy until 2030, the overarching goal of which is to curb the negative effects of mass tourism.
“According to the new strategic documents for Croatian tourism, we want to position this country within a niche between standard and premium. Croatia’s luxury offer, which is more and more in demand, but also of better quality when we talk about Croatian destinations, will play a big role in this. It’s up to us to systematically continue to develop this segment of the Croatian tourist offer and to promote it across foreign markets. In this sense, we especially welcome the creation of the new Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform, which will contribute to an even more successful presentation of all the premium assets of Croatia”, said the director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić. He added that more and more inquiries from partners relate to the possibility of providing premium offers and authentic experiences, especially from the markets of the USA, and also from other European countries such as Great Britain, Germany and France.
At the presentation of the Stories – Experience Premium Croatia platform at Zagreb’s popular Esplanade Hotel, a panel discussion was held where the potential of premium tourism in Croatia was discussed in more depth by well known players on the Croatian tourism scene.
