Getting Around by Car

Sinj

Sinj is easily accessible using the D1 motorway and exiting at Dugopolje. From Dugopolje to Sinj, the distance is only 20 kilometers and 20 minutes away. From Split to Sinj, the distance is just 35 kilometers and 35 minutes away. If you’re traveling from the Croatian capital, Zagreb, you can arrive in Sinj in just under 4 hours.

Vrlika

Vrlika is easily accessible using the D1 motorway and using the Dugopolje exit. From Dugopolje to Vrlika, the journey is just 50 kilometers and 45 minutes away. From Split to Vrlika, the distance is just 65 kilometers. If you’re traveling from the Croatian capital, you’ll also take the D1 road – the journey is then 330 kilometers and under 4 hours away.

Vrgorac

Vrgorac is around an hour and a half away from Split, at around 109 kilometers away. Drivers can either take the toll road or the D8 coastal road and E65 to reach Imotski.

Klis

Visiting Klis could not be easier from Split, as it is under 15 kilometers away. 

Drivers can take the D8 road to Solin, turn right onto Ul. Stjepana Radića, continue onto Ul. kneza Trpimira, and head through the village before making a sharp left toward Put Svetog Ante. Continue on this road to reach the Klis fortress.

If coming from the highway, take the D8 road to the A1 toward Sinj/Rijeka/Zagreb. Then take the first exit for D1, exit at Drniš/Klis and continue to the D511/D56. From here, take the left toward Klis.

Dugopolje

Getting to Dugopolje is also very easy from Split, as it just 30 minutes and some 20 kilometers away. From Split, drivers should use the D1 Solin-Klis Grlo-Dugopolje state road. From Zagreb and Dubrovnik, take the A1 motorway and exit for Dugopolje/Split. From Sinj, use the D1 Sinj-Dicmo-Dugopolje state road.

Trilj

Trilj is also easily accessible from Split using the A1 motorway Zagreb-Dubrovnik. Drivers will then take the exit at Bisko for Trilj. The distance from Split to Trilj is 40 kilometers and 35 minutes away.

Imotski

Imotski is under an hour and a half away from Split, at around 80 kilometers away. Drivers can either take the toll road or the D8 coastal road.
