Svilaja Mountain, Vrlika Sights

Daniela Rogulj

Just like a giant earthen fold, the Svilaja mountain extends from the Sinjsko to the Petrovo Polje Valley near Drniš, forming a unity with the Kozjak mountain, the two mountains being separated by the Lemes saddle (860 m), across which goes the Vrlika – Drniš road.

Svilaja is a rich treasury of various morphological, caving, climatic and natural phenomena, which hikers can discover with every step they take.

Unlike Dinara, the Svilaja mountain is a green mountain that attracts a large number of hikers and climbers who enjoy beautiful landscapes and rural settlements, former shepherds’ huts extending up to an altitude of 800 m.
