A Seaplane Rescues an Injured Turtle in Croatia (Photos)

Total Croatia News

A rather unusual mission for the crew of a European Coastal Airlines seaplane on September 27, 2106.

One of the benefits of seaplanes is the flexibility the aircraft can offer over the water, and this was ably demonstrated yesterday when a European Coastal Airlines Twin Otter answered a call to come to the rescue of an injured party in the Adriatic Sea, as the company explained on their official Facebook page:

“An outstanding week is behind us. One of our highlights has been a rescue flight of a 45kg turtle to the Pula aquarium for recovery. The lady got hit by a boat, and recovery is progressing – yet she is still fighting for her life. We wish her all the best! You will make it! A very special guest on board. ECA – always ready to help those in need!”

The patient was duly delivered, as can be seen in the photo at the bottom, and our last information is that she is fighting for her life. We will update the article with progress when we have it. In the meantime, the rescue in pictures.
