Calling all guitar lovers! Don’t miss out on this international acoustic guitar festival this weekend on Krk island.

BIG Fest 2017, Baška International Guitar Festival, will take place in Baška (Jurandvor) on the island of Krk from August 17 – 20, 2017. The festival is organised by the Tourist Board of Baška Municipality and the Hal association.

The festival will see performances by famous guitar players such as Duck Baker, a living legend of acoustic guitar, Muriel Anderson, one of the most renowned fingerstyle guitarists, Emanuele Grafitti, a talented young musician from Trieste, Elvis Stanić, one of the best Croatian contemporary guitarists and jazz composer, Bow vs Plectrum, a duo consisting of Filip Novosel (tambura) and Tihomir Hojsak (double bass), Black Coffee, well-known jazz group from Split and Django Group, consisting of German gypsy jazz guitarist Wawau Adler and Damir Kukuruzović and his trio.

The acoustic performances will be held in Jurandvor, in front of the beautiful church of St. Lucy, while the blues and rock programme of the festival will take place at the old waterfront in Baška.

For those wishing to find out more how to play the guitar like the guitar legends, there will be a Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop, which will be led by Duck Baker. The workshop will be held on August 17 and August 18.

So, stop by Baška and spend summer evening by listening to soothing sounds of acoustic guitar under the clear night sky.
