Dubrovnik Art Forum begins today!

As DuList reports on the 30th of October, 2017, 2017’s edition of Dubrovnik Art Forum, the seven-day festival under the production of the Marin Držić Theater, begins today and will continue until November the 5th, 2017.

The opening ceremony in the foyer of the theater begins with the evening exhibition tonight at 20:00, entitled: ”Ne vjerujem” (I don’t believe it).

The exhibition is based on attempts to detach from the adopted ways of understanding the most famous quotations from the long and rich history of the Russian theater. The name of the exhibition come from the well-known quote by Konstantin Stanislavski, a seminal Russian theatre practitioner from Moscow. Stanislavski’s acting style assumes the necessity of the real belief in the existence of the actor in the scene.

The artists Vanja Bouden and Mihail Zaikanov will bring twelve well-known, classic and contemporary quotations, each of them involving thinking about the theater and trying to work out who is to be believed/trusted.

After the opening of the exhibition and the festival, the first show on the rich program is ”Višnjik”, performed by Ivan Radoeva’s drama theater from Pleven, Bulgaria.
