How do you motivate tourists to come to Croatia outside of the sunny peak season? With a quality, authentic and diverse offer, of course! And if you include beer, it doesn’t hurt.
Luckily, you can find this in Poreč in just one week for the first Istria & Craft Beer Festival, a new beer event that will gather small, independent and craft brewers, reports HRTurizam on September 28, 2018.
The event that will surely attract many lovers of the popular alcoholic beverage will be held from October 4th to October 7th at the Poreč waterfront in a pop-up brewery by the sea, and in Poreč restaurants and bars. Namely, the festival program is divided into three parts: Beer & Music, Beer & Gourmet, and Beer & Bar.
The Beer & Music part of the program will be held from October 5th to 7th every day from 17.30 to 01.00, and will feature 16 small and independent breweries including San Servolo, Bura Brew, Suxo, Pulfer, Mlinarica, Lepi Dečki from Međimurje, Varaždin Brewery, Zmajska, Medvedgrad, Daruvarska, Varionica, Nova runda, Križevačka, Lab Split, Primarius and Crafters. In addition to the domestic craft beer, visitors will also have the chance to try out foreign beers from small, independent and craft breweries at the festival.
The Istra & Craft Beer Festival will even showcase the sounds of the regional music scene and will welcome Dogma, Let 3, Big Wave, TBF, Letu Štuke and Hladno Pivo, and DJ Dejvid.
But what would this beer festival be without food?
Along with the pop-up pubs on the waterfront, visitors can enjoy two street food sanctuaries: Mezzino Street by Valamar and Poreč staple Burgerija, which will offer grub that is well suited to soak up beer bellies such as burgers, wraps, potatoes and the like. The more demanding gourmands can also enjoy the Beer & Gourmet program at restaurants Spinnaker, Divino, Sv. Nikola, Fora Le Porte and Favola, who will offer specially designed meals with dishes that perfectly pair with beer, all offered at promotional prices. And for the complete beer atmosphere in the city, as part of the Beer & Bar festival program, special offers can even be found at Poreč bars General Lounge, Wine Corner and Epoche.
It’s no surprise this festival aims to succeed, as one of the organizers of Istia & Craft Beer is Jakov Kolega, who started the craft beer festivals in Zadar, Dubrovnik and Zagreb. The main sponsor of the event is the Valamar Riviera, Istria brewery, while other sponsors include Gark Consulting, Fearh and Špina. The project is supported by the Tourist Board of the City of Poreč, the City of Poreč and the Tourist Board of the Istria County.
