The flavors of Eastern Croatia will be highlighted through a special gourmet week from October 17th to 28th.
The ‘Gourmet Week’ of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem is a new project to promote the gastronomic offer of this area, which is one of the most important tourist offerings in Croatia. Numerous restaurants will be included in the event, and the week will be promoted in the eastern part of Croatia to bring the ingredients from the farm to your table. Ancient and local dishes, restaurants and their offer will be promoted – as will the people responsible for creating your new favorite dishes, of course, reports HRTurizam on October 16, 2018.
The gourmet story of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem begins on October 17th at the Osijek Museum with the Michelin & Slavonia Gourmet Workshop, where the Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of Osijek-Baranja will prepare Slavonian tapas and show tradition in a contemporary style. This will be an opportunity for a new World Cup final between France and Croatia, though this time played through the gourmet competition of French Michelin chef Lionel Levy and chef of the Croatia national football team, Tomica Đukić, who also leads the kitchen of Hotel Osijek.
A day later, on October 18th, the Association of Chefs of Osijek-Baranja County, under the “farm to table” theme, will prepare a fresh lunch for all visitors, pointing to the importance of the link between local OPGs and caterers.
The gourmet story of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem continues from October 19th to 28th in restaurants in the area of Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem County. During this time, the restaurant Josić, Hotel Osijek, Waldinger, Krčma kod Ruže, Hotel Patria, Hotel Đakovo, restaurant Sokak, Kuća Dida Tunje and others will offer unique menus at a promotional price of 75.00 kn and 120.00 kn. Already a traditional event that has positioned Osijek on the map of the enological tourist offer of Croatia is the “Evening of Wine and Art”, which will complement the gourmet experience on Saturday, October 20th.
