Mate Rimac Contributes to Harry and Meghan’s Wedding Jaguar

Total Croatia News

It seems that wines weren’t the only Croatian contribution to the royal wedding.

After their wedding on Saturday, Price Harry and Meghan Markle drove a Jaguar E-Type Zero to the evening celebration at Frogmore House. According to the British media, the number on the registration plate was actually the date of their wedding, reports Index.hr on May 20, 2018.

Interestingly for Croatia, the Jaguar E-Type Zero was initially manufactured in 1968 but has since been adapted to using electric drive. And it seems that Croatian electric drive boss Mate Rimac had his role in it.

On his Facebook profile, Rimac posted a photo of the royal couple and the car, and added cryptically: “Made in Sveta Nedjelja, now this…” Sveta Nedjelja is a small town near Zagreb where Rimac has his company headquarters.

Daily Mail writes that the price of the car is 350,000 pounds or about three million kuna.

Interestingly, unlike British cars, the Jaguar had the steering wheel on the left side, which was the first indication that it was originally meant for continental European market.
