Wonderful promotion for Šibenik and Barone Fortress as they’ve been stamped with the Mercedes seal of approval.
Daimler AG selected Croatia as the destination for the premiere of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The presentation will be accompanied by renowned journalists and experts from the automotive industry, with Šibenik, and precisely Baron Fortress, as the spectacular location for the final test ride on the Adriatic coast, reports Dalmacija Danas on April 7, 2018.
In addition, the event will gather journalists who, apart from topics concerning the automotive industry, cover tourism and travel, which will contribute to the recognizability of the fortress and the promotion of Sibenik as a destination, as well as Central Dalmatia, to an international audience.
“We are honored by the fact that our Fortress was chosen by a large international company such as Daimler Mercedes as a representative place to present the results of their long-term work. We are delighted that Šibenik fortresses are recognized not only as a tourist attraction but as an excellent location for business events like this, and we hope that we will host them in the future as well,” commented the director of the Public Cultural Institute of Šibenik, Gorana Barišić – Bačelić.

Over sixteen days, more than 400 journalists from around the world will visit Šibenik and the fortresses, and the Barone Fortress will be open to the public with customized working hours. This weekend, April 7 and 8, the fortress will be closed for daily visits to prepare for the event itself. During the event, from April 9 to 24, visitors can visit the Barone Fortress on weekdays (Mondays to Fridays) from 9 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. On weekends, the fortress will have their regular working hours, from 9 am to 8 pm. On Wednesday, April 25, the fortress will be closed to the public, and from Thursday, April 26, will continue with their regular working hours, from 9 am to 8 pm.
During this period, St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik will be open from 9 am to 8 pm each day, and day tickets to visit the fortresses will be available at discounted prices.
