And so it begins…
Much to the dread of the local population, Dubrovnik’s cruise ship season is well and truly underway. With several thousand cruise ships having transported many passengers to the Pearl of the Adriatic already, this weekend looks to be one of the busiest yet.
As Glas Grada reported on the 16th of June, 2017, 15,000 passengers on board nine enormous cruise ships are expected to arrive over the upcoming weekend. Four of the aforementioned ships will arrive in Gruz throughout the course of today, carrying about 7,400 passengers between them. Three are scheduled to arrive tomorrow (Saturday the 17th of June), carrying 5000 people. Two of which will dock in Gruz and the other between the island of Lokrum and the historic Old City. The third, carrying a significantly smaller number (2,400) will arrive on Sunday and dock at the Port of Dubrovnik in Gruz.
