July the 15th, 2024 – Pets are family, and there’s no reason not to bring your beloved furry friend with you on your travels. Here are our five favourite pet friendly hotels in Dalmatia.
hotel imperial – vodice
Vodice is popular with all kinds of people, from those seeking sun, sea and relaxation to those with more of an active, recreational spirit. Located in Sibenik-Knin County, Vodice is a town that doesn’t need to try very hard to draw the crowds each year. Tucked away in a peaceful part of town, this hotel is away from the very heart of Vodice and too much noise. It boasts beautiful views of the alluring Adriatic Sea and dogs are more than welcome as long as they too are paying guests. It isn’t only dogs, any pet (within reason of course, maybe don’t bring your salt water crocodile with you) is welcome at this hotel as long as you’re paying their way.
bluesun neptun – tucepi
Located in Central Dalmatia close to Split, Makarska, Omis and the gorgeous nearby islands, Tucepi is a real beauty spot which sits just close enough to the hustle and bustle, while being far enough away from it at the same time. The area is very popular with tourists from all over Europe, and there’s no shortage of dogs. Bluesun Neptun is part of the large Bluesun hotel chain, the hotels of which are dotted all over the Croatian coast. The company enjoys a very good reputation among its guests and on the Croatian tourism scene, and your dog, cat, rabbit, ferret or whatever kind of pet you own is welcome to come and enjoy it too. Bluesun Neptun opens its arms to paying pets, who will absolutely enjoy some of the nearby dog beaches and a cooling splash in the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea.
falkensteiner hotel and spa – zadar
Zadar is home to the world’s most beautiful sunsets, at least according to Alfred Hitchcock. Why not stay in nearby luxury backed up by a well-respected brand name and let your best friend enjoy it all too? This is more than just one of the pet friendly hotels in Dalmatia, as it not only permits pets, but lays out the proverbial red carpet for them. Dogs staying at this hotel are even provided with a special gift when arriving. A stay in a top hotel in a glorious ancient Dalmatian city the Romans once called Zara and a free bag of chews and bones upon arrival – who could ask for more?
radisson blue resort and spa – split
Split – the chosen retirement home (or palace, rather) of Roman Emperor Diocletian. If it’s good enough for him, it’s definitely up to par for Fido. This city is popular, and the so-called green lungs of Split, the Marjan hill/forest, offers glorious walks for your dog to stretch their legs and enjoy some beautiful Mediterranean views. If bringing your furry family member is a must, staying at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa is a great choice. This hotel is very accommodating to pets for a daily rate.
hotel ilirija – biograd na moru
If Zadar is on your must visit list but you’d prefer to actually stay outside of the very heart of the city, Biograd na Moru is a fantastic option. This part of the Zadar region offers gorgeous beaches, nature and a more relaxed pace than the actual City of Zadar can. With a name that literally translates into English from the local Ikavian dialect of Croatian to ”white town by the sea”, this part of the wider Zadar County located between two picturesque little bays is perfect for dogs. Paying four-legged guests are just as welcome as those who walk on two legs at Hotel Ilirija. There are also several dog beaches in the vicinity that your pet is sure to enjoy.
