Numerous themed roads have been attracting visitors to Croatia for a while now. Croatian and foreign guests are impressed with different wine and gourmet trails. The Golden Thread links Županja and the surrounding villages within 60 kilometres of the town and gathers together family farms, associations that preserve the legacy and heritage of the area, museums, as well as accommodation and hospitality facilities. All of them allow visitors to get acquainted with the rich traditions and heritage of the region, but also to try to make their own traditional handicrafts in special workshops.

The travellers that find their way to this road can weave with their own hands, prepare feathers for pillows, create folk costumes, make gold embroidery, or participate in the production of cured meats, honey and fruit brandies. Visitors can learn about the old-fashioned way of life, participate with the owners in everyday affairs of a family farm, wear traditional costumes, ride in a horse-drawn carriage… In short, they can turn the history clock a few decades back and enjoy a less stressful era. Every visitor will also experience all the shades of Slavonian songs and dance, as well as a century old oak trees with undiscovered historical and ethnological sites and spiritual meditative oases.
