See Split Transform into Music Festival Paradise with ULTRA Europe 2017 Official Aftermovie

All eyes are back on Split!

After months of anticipation, a newly released film tells the story of a music festival that brings together hearts around the world, beating to the same rhythm in Croatia’s tourism champion, Split. This festival is known as Ultra Europe.

The most prominent and most important summer event in Croatia and its three festival days has been documented in an emotional ten-minute film – the ULTRA Europe 2017 Aftermovie. The film was directed by Final Kid Productions who has produced videos for many world-famous DJs and filmed the FIFA European Football Championship in France two years ago.

It is nearly impossible to the tell story of why Ultra Europe is unlike all other European music festivals, and it is even more challenging to do so in just ten minutes – but Charly Friedrich and his team at Final Kid have done a brilliant job at justifying why there is nothing else like Ultra Europe on earth.

After more than two months of production, Croatia has received another invaluable video postcard that will travel to all parts of the world. Its value and significance, as well as the influence of the image of Split, Split-Dalmatia County and Croatia around the world, is best detailed by the fact that more than ten million people have seen the Ultra films released so far – and that figure will undoubtedly be much higher in the coming days. The festival is recognized as one of the leading brands throughout the county, and this kind of promotion will contribute to the achievement of even more impressive results and a more positive impact on tourism and the economy.

It took just a few days and more than twenty people to film the best locations in Split to showcase the most spectacular moments of the special birthday edition of the festival. For this occasion, helicopters and sailboats, top-of-the-line equipment and state-of-the-art technology were used, resulting in more than 100 hours of video footage with more than 100,000 EUR invested.

“More than 20 cameramen and 10 official photographers arrived in Split four days early to record the destination before the start of the festival. We used the most modern camera equipment that can record in a resolution up to 8K, and there were cranes, steadycams, and glidecams that were dropped on wires to make the crowds more dynamic and attractive. We are proud that we had two great internationally-known faces when it comes to photography, Rudger and Rukes,” said Branimir Karačić, director of digital agency Envy Croatia who led the photo and video team and the communication on all official social channels of the ULTRA Europe festival, and added: “The main idea of this year’s film was to show Split and our fans and capture and record what makes us so special in comparison to other festivals. We’ve been trying to convey the atmosphere from all of the stages to show the variety of music and the truly unique visitor experience at each of them. We also focused on just one destination, and that is why we have prepared a lot of surprises in the coming months.”

The film begins with an attractive view of the city of Split from above and leads viewers to Poljud, which opened its doors to more than 100,000 visitors from 149 countries around the world for the fifth time.

“Croatia, welcome to ULTRA Europe number five! Tonight we will make history,” said Damian Pinto, the most famous voice of the ULTRA family who opened the festival and announced the music greats like Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Steve Aoki, DJ Snake, Afrojack and Fedde Le Grande. After spectacular scenes of the crowds and fireworks over the main stage, the film takes us through the other stages, including the Afterburner and RESISTANCE, which by no means lag behind the production and lineup of the main stage.

The single “In My Mind” performed by LVNDSCAPE feat. Mi Manchi, “Golden Pineapple” by Jay Hardway, “Baddest Behavior” by Throttle, “Welcome To The Jungle” by Thick Dick, remixed by Andrea Oliva and “On Our Own” ft. Natalie Major and performed by Showtek & Brooks was chosen as the film music.

This film is the best possible invitation for all those who have yet to feel the magic and contagious energy of ULTRA Europe. The seven-day musical adventure will welcome us from July 5 to 11, 2018, and travels to Split, Brač, Hvar, and Vis.

The first lineup announcement and news about special regional tickets will be released soon. The organizers will announce many other surprises and benefits to make the sixth edition even better than the last.
