It seems that displaying certain parts of your anatomy for no apparent reason is growing in popularity, also, for no apparent reason.
Following an article written a few days ago about a group of individuals posing on the side of Mount Srdj (more precisely close to the old road from the village of Bosanka to Dubrovnik) completely naked for no reason whatsoever, it seems the trend has continued to grow.
An image posted by ”cheekyexploits” on the popular photo sharing app Instagram a few days ago of a woman on Stradun baring pretty much all from the waste down and the thighs up. Apparently, it isn’t enough to walk around naked, half naked or semi naked and risk being fined, particularly in the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which rightfully commands respect and has seen hefty fines imposed on tourists for much less than such a blatent display – you must take photos of the act and post them online for all to see as well.
The photo has ”earned” more than 3000 likes on Instagram and the number will most likely continue to grow, as will this trend.
Some people in Dubrovnik find it funny and quirky, others find it utterly disrespectful and distasteful, particularly given the recent history of the city, and its status as a bastion of culture.
To take it one step further, as it seems almost certain somebody will – why not attempt this in broad daylight and convert those 3000 likes into euros paid to the police who perhaps won’t find it quite as amusing?
