The island of Ugljan shows some love to an enormous part of Dalmatia’s rich herigate – olive oil.
As eZadar writes on the 13th of May, 2018, under the organisation of the Municipality of Preko, TZO Preko and TZ Ugljan, the Days of Olive Oil manifestation is set to be held on the island of Ugljan in the Zadar region.
After the opening of the event at 16:00 in front of TZ (Tourist Board) Ugljan’s office building, a gastro show will be held which will encompass and showcase the preparations of various dishes in numerous new ways, and the main star of the show will be Barica from the popular cooking show “3,2,1 cook”, who will be present preparing food.
As part of the program, there will be a fair showcasing island products, presentations which will focus on olive trees, guided oil tasting, and demonstrations of just how olives should be properly treated.
The brochure “The identification of the types of olives of Zadar County” will be presented, the fruits of the labour and of the extensive research of prof. Dr. Benjić and his associates.
For the youngest participants, a creative workshop will be organised, conducted by prof. Ana Fundak.
After announcing the winner and the awarding of diplomas and acknowledgments, activities will continue along with the tasting of island dishes coupled with the ambient sounds of traditional klapa music.
