The Cannes Boat Show is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year and will take place from the 12th – 17th September 2017. Hanse will present three new yachts at Cannes as a World Premiere.

The Cannes Yachting Festival is the biggest boat show in Europe and this year marks its 40th Anniversary; it will have close to 600 boats on display including three new models by Hanse which will be premiered at the event.

Hanse has recently designed, developed and built four new models – Hanse 348, Hanse 388, Hanse 418, Hanse 548. Releasing four boats is no coincidence, the new series has been inspired by the four elements; air, fire, water, earth.

Kicking off with ‘Air’, the new Hanse 348 has been designed with easy-sailing in mind. ‘Its high rig and sail plan is packed with enormous performance to deliver maximum speed – without compromising the easy sailing experience and handling in any weather.’ But the ‘air’ inspiration doesn’t stop there; the Hanse 348 has also been designed with numerous portholes below deck, which is not usual in a yacht of this class. This allows beautiful natural light and the ability to breathe the fresh salt-air; the interior has also been designed with ‘elegant wood and soft, one-of-a-kind fabrics and décor.’ The Hanse 348 is the only model of this series which will not be displayed at Cannes.

The Hanse 388 was inspired by ‘fire’, how exactly? Well, the sun is nothing but a giant floating ball of fire, which is the source and energy of all life, so it makes sense to want to create a space filled with as much sunlight as possible – another reason many choose to sail, to get their dose of vitamin sea and vitamin D. “A record number of portholes in the hill and on deck – and even alongside the companionway – flood the saloon with natural light the whole day through. The well-structured, large cockpit and the generously designed deck space invites you to relax under the sun.”

The Hanse 418, is unmistakably inspired by water, with its strong, sleek lines, it is already the talk on the sailing grape vine; this boat is designed to make any sailor desperate to spend every waking moment on the sea. “Thanks to the optimised hydrodynamic flow conditions, the straight stem and extra-long waterline, this Hanse yacht is perfect for a genuine sailing experience: fast, safe and comfortable.”

Lastly, the new Hanse 548 is the ‘piece de resistance’ of this new series. Hanse 548 offers space and comfort on its 16-m length and 5-m breadth. The interior uses natural materials and soft hues to attain its ‘earth’ feel; clients can even choose between different layouts below deck. An excellent sailing yacht shouldn’t and doesn’t need to compromise on luxury and comfort, the Hanse 548 brings all of these elements together.

Last year, Hanse premiered two models at the Cannes Boat Show, the Hanse 588 and Flagship of the Hanse fleet, the Hanse 675; this year will no doubt bring just as much interest around these three models.
