January the 30th, 2024 – Rather unsurprisingly, it seems that the Pearl of the Adriatic is the favourite destination to visit for American tourists in Croatia.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, American tourists in Croatia typically spend twice as much as the average Croatian guest, equal to about 300 euros per person per day. They usually look for high quality and are more than willing to pay for it. These types of guests are what everyone wants, and is appears that Croatia is one of their favourite destinations, according to Dnevnik.hr.
“We have everything they’re typically looking for. Fantastic nature, tradition, history, highly personalised experiences, and that human factor is something that is simply irreplaceable. I’d like to point out one more thing, and that’s the multi-generational trips in which the aspect of safety is very important. Croatia has no problem providing that”, said the director of the Croatian National Tourist Board’s representative office in the USA, Leila Krešić-Jurić.
At a recently held fair in New York, 500 exhibitors from 170 countries were presented, and the Croatian National Tourist Board was recognised as one of the best exhibitors, as well as the most frequented. Numerous Croatian agencies, hotels and eleven different Croatian destinations are presented, and when Americans are asked which Croatian city they like the most – it’s of course gorgeous Dubrovnik.
Tourist guide Sanja Čikato said that American tourists in Croatia are usually satisfied guests who enjoy the simple things this country, and specifically Dubrovnik, has to offer.
“When I mention to them that we have a pharmacy from the fourteenth century, that we invented quarantine, that slavery was abolished here in 1416, before America was even discovered, they are simply fascinated,” she added.
Last year, 700,000 Americans visited the Republic of Croatia and realised more than two million overnight stays. This year, even more are expected.
