Bridge Between Čiovo and Trogir to Finally Open Next Week?

Lauren Simmonds

It isn’t quite Pelješac Bridge, but it is yet another we’ve been waiting a long time for.

As the saga around Pelješac Bridge and its construction woes continue to unfold in some usually rather discouraging shapes, one much smaller but no less significant case, at least for the inhabitants of Trogir and Čiovo, is reaching its very final stages.

As Morski writes on the 13th of July, 2018, according to a Facebook announcement from the mayor of Trogir, Ante Bilić, published on Thursday, if everything goes according to plan, the bridge will finally be opened on Tuesday.

”IT’S UNOFFICIAL, BUT IT’S TRUE!

From the information that we’ve got, the permit should be issued on Monday during the day, and the bridge should officially open on Tuesday. We’ve waited for fifty years. As soon as I get the official information, I’ll let you know. Get ready to party!” Bilić wrote enthusiastically on his Facebook profile.
