Croatian Airports Register 12% More Passengers in June

ZAGREB, August 14, 2018 – A total of 1.4 million passengers passed through Croatian airports in June 2018, up 11.9% on the year, and Split Airport registered the highest turnover (471,962 passengers), up 17.6% on the year.

Dubrovnik Airport was second, with 362,687 passengers, up 7.6% from June 2017, while Zagreb’s airport was third with 330,804 passengers, up 6.6%.

Britons were the most numerous foreign passengers in Croatian airports (269,623), up 4% on the year, followed by Germans (264,097), up 14%, and French (88,016), up 11.9%.

Croatian airports also registered a higher cargo turnover in June 2018, amounting 1,059 tonnes, up 72.2% on the year.

In the first six months of 2018, Croatian airports registered 3.872 million passengers, up 13.5% on the year.

As for seaports, they registered 96,177 ships in the second quarter of 2018, up 5.9% on the year. They transported 8.95 million passengers, up 7% and the best result in the past five years.

Split registered the highest ship passenger turnover, 1.33 million, up 11.5% from Q2 2017, followed by Dubrovnik with 724,228 passengers (+4.1%) and Zadar with 611,635 passengers (+2.4%).

Cargo turnover in Q2 2018 was 5.7 million tonnes, up 10.7% on the year, and 73% of the turnover was registered by the Omišalj, Bakar and Ploče seaports.

In the first six months of 2018, Croatian seaports registered 146,601 ships, up 2.6% on the year, 11.7 million passengers (+5.2%) and 10.1 million tonnes of cargo (+1.9%).
