Croatian Mobile Phone Producer Increases Revenues

Total Croatia News

In three years, Hangar 18 has grown to reach more than 100 employees and 74 million kuna in revenues.

After its brand H18 Noa became the leader in sales of smartphones independent of telecoms in Croatia, the Hangar 18 company from Koprivnica has now gained the attention of telecoms and plans to move into regional expansion. On Wednesday, Hangar 18 presented the new model NOA H4se, which it wants to offer through the sales networks of Telenor, O2 and T-Mobile, from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary in the north to the Adriatic region in the south, reports Poslovni.hr on August 25, 2016.

Mario Kralj, the owner and director of Hangar 18, says that there is strong interest from distributors in the region and that they are also strengthening their cooperation with telecoms. “In Croatia, we first started cooperation with Tele2, which resulted in two consecutive years of growth, and the new series of ‘H’ mobile phones will be targeted to other telecoms as well”, says King.

Last year, Hangar 18 had revenue growth of 42.8 percent, to 73.8 million kuna, with net profits growth of 10.8 percent, to 4.13 million kuna. Number of employees has been increased from 46 to 60, and Kralj says that now they have more than a hundred employees.

Kralj adds that they currently have 13 shops in Croatia, and by the end of the year they plan to open another five. Outside of Croatia, they will focus on distributors. “Thanks to the synergy we have achieved with a partner from China, and with the ability to raise our brand NOA from C to B brand class, which would mean we would become a high-tech brand that has its own development, design and support, we have built a foundation that allows us to be a respectable partner to major players in the European market”, says Kralj.

He adds that the project is quite complex and requires a lot of investments. The plan is for Hangar 18 and NOA to be present at the next Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with its own stand. Also, they are preparing to meet the standards set by big players like Deutsche Telekom.

Hangar 18 began a rapid growth two years ago when, thanks to its own brand NOA, it doubled revenues to 50 million kuna. The net profits tripled to three million kuna. The company has not announced how many NOA mobile phones have been sold last year. However, a year ago it stated that it had sold 60,000 mobile phones. “The plan is to continue to grow rapidly and to double revenues in 2016”, says Kralj.
