Gauss is the fastest growing technology company in Croatia.

They started four and a half years. A few of them who used to work for various IT companies decided to start their own business, reports Jutarnji List on October 27, 2016.

That is how Gauss was founded in 2012. In the latest Deloitte’s ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in Central Europe, Gauss has been ranked at 19th position out of 50 companies, and as the best-ranked company from Croatia. From 634,000 kuna in revenues in 2012, they jumped to 5.3 million kuna in 2015.

“We started with just a few people, and today we have 75 employees in our offices in Osijek and Vukovar. We develop software, primarily for individual customers, but now we are increasingly turning towards developing our own solutions which we would like to commercialize”, said Sanja Radić, a project-manager in the company led by Ivan Lozančić.

Gauss develops web, mobile and business solutions and creates web-stores. “As for the customers, we have approximately 50 percent Croatian and 50 percent foreign clients. We are not only oriented to exports, and we are satisfied with domestic market as well. We have done a lot of projects for various ministries and state agencies, which we have won via public tenders, and we have a lot of major web stores which we take care of. Of course, in our business everybody wants to have more foreign customers, but not everyone can do it”, said Radić. “We have always thought that people should not idealize foreign markets, or locations outside of Slavonia. We have demonstrated that you can be successful and accomplish good business results from here as well.”

Some of their clients have been the Pannonian Challenge, tennis player Donna Vekić, Carnet, Ministry of Economy… “In the beginning, we worked mainly on local projects in Slavonia. Some of the projects we cannot discuss because they were done for major clients who reserved the rights to these works, so we cannot showcase them. Also, we have a lot of volunteer projects including for the Fencing Federation, a shelter for abandoned dogs in Osijek, and many others”, said Radić.

Constant growth of the number of assignments and employees means they will have to move soon. They are getting ready to construct their own offices which will also include a technology centre. They hope they will be able to use benefits provided by the Law on Investment Promotion, particularly since they already have their own sales offices in San Francisco, Zurich and Verona.
