ZAGREB, May 23, 2018 – The candidates for Economy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Darko Horvat and Tomislav Tolušić respectively, met with Agrokor’s emergency administrator Fabris Peruško at government headquarters on Tuesday evening to get acquainted with the situation in the indebted food and retail conglomerate.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Horvat said that he would not interfere in the emergency administration’s work. “These people know their job and have my full confidence,” he said. “We hope that at one point this administration will be replaced by a real administration consisting of owners,” he added.
Peruško said that the purpose of the meeting was to get the newly-nominated ministers acquainted with the situation and to discuss main issues facing the conglomerate in the coming weeks.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
A vote on the newly-nominated ministers is expected on Friday. “I believe we will have a majority without any major turbulence,” Horvat said.
