ZAGREB, May 21, 2018 – More than 50,400 vessels entered Croatian seaports in the first three months of 2018, 3.3% less on the year, according to data from the national statistical office (DZS). The number of passengers in seaports fell by 0.5% to close to 2.8 million.
The seaport of Split reported the most passengers, 455,600, up 2.7% on the year. It is followed by the seaport of Zadar, which reported 324,600 passengers, a decrease of 3.2%.
Cargo turnover in the seaports dropped in the first three months by 7.5% on the year, to 4.4 million tonnes.
The number of passengers and landings and take-offs in Croatian airports increased in the first three months of 2018. The number of passengers in airports grew 19.7% on the year to 824,000 while the number of landings and take-offs increased by 8.4% to nearly 14,000.
