Port of Ploče Improving: Traffic Increase of 18% in 2017

Welcome news for the Port of Ploče.

As Morski writes on the 5th of March, 2018, the Port of Ploče (Luka Ploče) saw traffic amounting to a promising 3.19 million tons of goods last year, which is 18.1% higher than it was during the same period one year previously.

The Port of Ploče recorded net profit of 518.49 thousand kuna last year, according to a report from SEEbiz.

In 2017, operating income amounted to 230.42 million kuna, which is 35% more than was recorded during the previous year. Sales revenue amounted to 228.33 million kuna, an increase of 37.45% when compared with the previous year. This increase is the result of an increase in both goods turnover and an increase in sales revenue.

Operating expenses amounted to 224.20 million kuna, up by 30.07% from the data recorded during the same period one year before. The biggest increase can be found in the cost of raw materials and staff costs.

Long-term assets also recorded an encouraging increase of 39.4 percent in 2017 compared to the record taken back in 2016.
