Rimac Automobili: ”By End of Year, We’ll Grow to Around 400 People”

Welcome news from one of Croatia’s most well known success stories.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 26th of January, 2018, the new model shares not even one common part with the famed Concept-One, which has come to the ”end of the road”, all eight are sold, and the last three are in production and are set to then be delivered.

As we reported, Mate Rimac and Rimac Automobili will present their incredible new model at the International Car Show in Geneva from the 8th to the 18th of March, 2018. Rimac Automobili have allowed the public to speculate on what model is in the works by publishing short videos and a few photos featuring only the silhouette of a new R-branded logo with all the intriguing message – ”Why play the rules when you can change the game?”

Just guesswork

Obviously, what we’re talking about here in any case is a sports car, the performance will, without a shred of a doubt, be top quality as always.

”We’re revealing a new car at the Geneva Fair, so far, no more information is available. Some things like a teaser will be released earlier, but we won’t give you access to the car yet. The new model shares no common part with Concept-One. It’s a brand new car and platform. We’re producing sports cars and we don’t plan to go into big series and lower price categories, but we’re increasingly heading to the big series of systems and components we’re developing for large manufacturers so that, even though we won’t produce our own cars that are acceptable to the wider masses, many such cars made by other manufacturers will include our components,” Mate Rimac told Poslovni Dnevnik. This is, unfortunately, the end of the now almost cult like Concept-One, which gained extra glory last year when British car lover and Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond infamously crashed it during a recently released episode of the The Grand Tour.

With the announcement of the new car, the company also introduced a new logo, however the famous letter R is still very much recognisable.

“We’re making a lot of changes, and visual identity is one of the things that is needed for those changes, but I can’t reveal any more,” stated one entrepreneur.

Company growth

”By the end of the year, we’ll increase to about 400 people. Just this week, for example, seven new colleagues have joined us. We currently have colleagues from 21 countries, which we’re very proud of,” stated Rimac. Apart from the constant growth in the number of employees and the media exposure, overall business results have been growing stradily as well. Back in 2016, Rimac Automobili recorded revenues of more than 46 million kuna, and last year, the company recorded a major milestone in both its history and its business.
