Croatian Master Chefs Association team scores big at the international culinary cup in Bjelovar
The grand finale and celebration dinner of the international culinary cup “Slatka Nit” (or “Sweet Thread”) took place in Bjelovar on March 13, 2016. Over eighty chefs from some twenty countries attended, including Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, Israel, South Korea, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and of course Croatia, and competed for a full four days.
The Croatian Master Chefs Association fielded a team from Hvar: Ivo Tudor and Antonio Buzolić amongst the seniors and Mili Tudor as a junior. Ivo Tudor is not only a chef, but also the Professor of the Culinary Arts Program at Hvar High School. Mili Tudor is a student at the school. Antonio Buzolić works at the famous Zlatna Školjka (Golden Shell) restaurant in Hvar town.

Ivan Buzolić, the founder and President of the Croatian Master Chefs Association was a member of the judges’ panel.
In the Fish Category, Antonio Buzolić won a Gold Medal, and Ivo Tudor i Mili Tudor both won Silver.
For the Vegetarian Dish, Ivo Tudor took Gold, and Mili Tudor i Antonio Buzolić Silver Medals.
In the National Teams – Black Box competition, as the overall winners, the CMCA team won the GRAND PRIX CUP, managing this feat for the second year running.
Special congratulations to young Mili Tudor for his excellent performance in this baptism by fire, and his mentor Ivo Tudor for his first international gold. Antonijo Buzolić deserves a particular mention for his third international gold medal.
The numbers of attendees this year have not been released yet, but were noticeably higher than last year, when over 550 guests attended in the final dinner.
The competition sponsors are the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and the Bjelovar Bilogora County.
