May the 13th, 2024 – Croatian Eurovision star Baby Lasagna (Marko Purisic) was welcomed home at Zagreb’s main square with a celebration that warmed hearts across Europe.

The talented Umag native Baby Lasagna wowed Croatia and the rest of Europe with his catchy tune and irresistible personality. His welcome home in the heart of the capital city following this year’s Eurovision was no less than fantastic.

As Vecernji list writes, after the main celebration died down following Croatian Eurovision star Baby Lasagna returned to Zagreb, he addressed his Instagram fans. Now there are over 225,000 of them, and counting. Croatian actor Goran Višnjić also responded to him in the comments on the social media platform.

I don’t know how to thank you all, says croatian eurovision star baby lasagna

“I don’t know what to say and how to thank you all. You’ve brought my heart and that of my family and my team so much happiness, joy and pride. Thank you isn’t enough, but until I find something better to say – thank you,” Croatian Eurovision star Baby Lasagna wrote on Instagram.

“Totally deserved! The audience is the most important thing,” well known Croatian actor Goran Višnjić told him under the social media post, which showcased just how many people came to support this charming and successful young man from Umag.

“What should I say now? I expected 20 people to be waiting for me at the airport, and maybe about a hundred here [on the main square]. Thank you all so very much. I hope you’re pleased!” said the talented Marko before his emotions overcame him, and his dedicated team ran over to hug him.

“We did our best, I think you noticed that. We’re just kids and I hope we’ve proven that you can reach a high level all on your own. We did everything ourselves. Thank you to my team,” he said and then sang the now famous “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”, and the amassing audience eagerly joined in singing this addictive song with him.

Much like the scenes we saw back in summer 2018 when Croatia’s team returned home from the World Cup, Croatian Eurovision star Baby Lasagna headed home in an open bus. Upon his arrival at Zagreb Airport, along with numerous fans, he was greeted by his proud mother Marija, who called herself “the happiest mother in the entire world”. Before taking to the stage at the Square, Marko signed autographs for the very many assembled fans, many of whom wore cat-themed T-shirts.
