September 9, 2023 – According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Davor Filipović, the economic growth of Croatia brings the country to the very top of the European Union in that regard.

During his visit to the Zagorje Chamber of Commerce, Minister Filipović reflected on the state of the Croatian economy, writes Index. “In the second quarter of this year, the economic growth of Croatia economy has been at a rate of 2.7 percent, while the average rate of economic growth in the European Union is 0.5 percent. Looking at the last pre-pandemic quarter of 2019 and the growth in the second quarter of this year, it is apparent that the Croatian economy has grown 13 percent, which ranks us at the top of the European Union,” said Filipović.

Entrepreneurs Have Nothing To Worry About

The minister emphasized that this indicates that the Croatian government made good moves during the crisis. “We intervened in the price of electricity, we limited the prices of oil derivatives, gas – everything to help our entrepreneurs and citizens. My message to all is that the government will continue to care for them,” he said.

Filipović said entrepreneurs have nothing to worry about, and the government will firmly stand by them. He believes that the comments of the Croatian National Bank are quite damaging, and he also recalled last year’s comments.

“They even said that we were in a technical recession at the time, which was completely wrong. The Croatian government will do everything to ensure that economic growth in our homeland continues,” concluded Filipović.

At the invitation of the mayor of Krapina, Zoran Gregurović, the minister participated in the ceremonial awarding of vocational diplomas at the Zagorje Chamber of Commerce.

“I am especially pleased that we will be handing out this type of diploma – this is something that the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development continuously maintains,” he said.
