August the 26th, 2026 – Gorgeous Istria has been showcased in front of millions of German viewers, shining the spotlight on Croatia’s largest peninsula.
Morski reports that one of the most successful German travel programmes, “Wunderschön”, devoted a full 90 minutes of airtime to Istria, presenting the diversity of the peninsula to a million-strong audience in the German-speaking world – from Kamenjak, Pula and the Brijuni Islands, via Učka, Buzet and Pazin, to Poreč and Rovinj.
The project was realised in cooperation between the Tourist Board of Istria County and its long-standing PR partner ART Redaktionsteam from Salzburg. Viewers are guided through Istria by well-known German television presenter Stephanie Müller-Spirra, under the direction of award-winning journalist and author Stephan Heise. Alongside numerous local protagonists, the programme also features Marko Purišić – Baby Lasagna, Rade Šerbedžija and extreme alpinist Ines Papert. Istria is presented to the audience through a blend of natural and cultural attractions, active holidays, local stories and top-class food and local wine.
The first broadcast of the report reaches around two million viewers, while through further screenings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland the total viewership is expected to exceed five million, making the project one of the most significant television promotions of Istria on its most important outbound market.
