May the 7th, 2025 – As Jadrolinija continues to introduce newer vessels into its ageing fleet, it has ordered two catamarans from Singapore. They’re not the only ones, either.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Jadrolinija has finally completed the process of purchasing two catamarans which are currently under construction in Singapore.
After the first tender failed to receive any valid bids, Singapore’s Batam Fast Ferry applied for the second tender and won, with a price slightly higher than the estimated one.
Last week, Jadrolinija announced via Narodne novine (Official Gazette) that they had picked the winner of their tender for the purchase of two catamarans from Singapore which are currently under construction. The decision was only announced now, but was made on January the 28th during the company’s previous management.

Back at that time, no one except the Batam Fast Ferry company applied, because the eighteen-month deadline for the design, construction and delivery of the vessels was too short for anyone who did not already have such a ship under construction. Batam’s bid also failed, because they didn’t submit all the necessary documentation.
The only company to apply for the repeated tender announced at the end of November was the Singapore-based Batam Fast Ferry company, which ultimately won the job. The estimated value of the ships stood at 12.4 million euros, while it offered them for 12.99 million euros.

This time, the tender required that it be shorter than fourteen months, which was successfully met. The new vessels will not be longer than 37 metres, and they will have space for 330 passengers. The ship’s speed in service at 85% of the MCR is at least 26 knots.
These are not the only catamarans that are rejuvenating Jadrolinija’s fleet. Back in November 2024, the almost new catamarans Cvijeta and Ružica arrived.
As a reminder, in 2024, Jadrolinija transported more than 12.6 million passengers and 3.7 million vehicles by ship, which is two percent more passengers and almost five percent more vehicles than in 2023. Total revenues in 2024 amounted to 195.21 million euros , which is an increase of 16.99% compared to the previous year. In 2024, it generated a net profit of 7.42 million euros, an increase of 87.91% compared to 2023.
