Ilija Sundov, a 33-year-old resident of Split, is up to something very cool….
Split resident Ilija Sundov builds LEGO creations as a hobby. And while most of us say we can build with LEGOs too, we promise you nothing will ever be as cool as what Sundov has accomplished.
Last year, Sundov designed a LEGO creation of the famous Diocletian’s palace in Split. Because the LEGO creation turned out to be so good, Sundov decided to submit the creation to the official LEGO Ideas web page.
Currently, the project is up for people to vote and if the votes reach 10.000, LEGO will consider producing the Diocletian’s Palace LEGO creation as an official set!
At the moment, Sundov has 1.623 votes with 240 days to go, and in an effort to get 10.000 votes, we thought we would help spread the word and encourage readers to do the same. Because really, who wouldn’t want a LEGO version of our beloved Diocletian’s Palace?
The Diocletian’s palace LEGO creation is made from 5.468 bricks. The dimensions are 52,7 x 76,7 x 13 cm and the weight is 10 kg. The project took Sundov 6 months to design and an additional 6 months to buy the bricks. Once all the bricks were attained, it took Sundov 20 hours to build. If it becomes an official LEGO set, this creation will be second largest set in the history of LEGO. The first one is Taj Mahal (5.922 pcs).
