A new online resource preserving the past of Dalmatian town Imotski.
Most famous for its unique Blue and Red Lakes, and with one of the world’s strangest football stadiums, the Dalmatian town of Imotski, which borders Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a fascinating inland town, and one which is attracting increasing tourism, due to the efforts of the energetic local tourist board, as well as the opening of a tunnel to the popular Makarska Riviera.
The town has a rich heritage and tradition, one which can now be explored online with the creation of a new website, Stari Imotski (Old Imotski), which has catalogued a fine collection of old photographs, postcards and works of art about the town, from the 19th Century to the present day, with plenty of fascinating information in Croatian about the characters of the time over that period.
The website is part of the Imotski Jagul Wine Cellar’s efforts to document and portray the town’s rich heritage. The wine cellar, located in central Imotski, is home to one of the finest konobas in Dalmatia, and its upper rooms are slowly becoming a museum, documenting life in Dalmatia in an age gone by.
