Two Croatian Startups Reach One Million Users in the Same Week

Total Croatia News

Zagreb-based startups Oradian, a core microfinance system, and Madbarz, a bodyweight workout app, reached one million users on Thursday.

Two Croatian startups reached the one million users milestone on July 20, poslovni.hr reported on July 20, 2017.

This is a crucial step in assessing their market value because the end-users are their main source of income.

Oradian is a core microfinance system, very popular in Africa, and Madbarz is a bodyweight workout app.

However, they are not the first Croatian startups to do so.

Zagreb mobile game producer Nanobit has five mobile games with millions of users. Superstar Life and Fashion Design World each have eight million users, while Hollywood Story and Chef Town have seven million. Fashion City has also recently reached one million users.

Then there’s Photomath, with 7.5 million active monthly users, with a total number of users reaching 60 million. The app helps solve math problems.

The leader of the million user club is InfoBip from Pula – their SMS-based software is used by more than 3.2 billion users, with over 7 billion transactions a month.

In addition to Croatian startups that have passed the one million milestone, there are more and more startups that are very close to reaching it, all thanks to global expansion and export.

Poslovni.hr suggests that some of the candidates include Bellabeat, an IoT (Internet of things) specialised startup, and the most successful financially, which announced last month that 700,000 of their smart devices had been sold. Spreading its business to mobile apps means that the startup will have a chance to further increase its user base. Another successful example is GetByBus, with more than 500,000 users.

Oradian has stated that it owes its success to focusing on helping include 100 million economically neglected families into the digital economy; i.e. allowing them access to digital services. The startup was one of the main candidates for Best European Fintech Startup 2017 at European Fintech Awards.

Madbarz has focused on helping millennials around the world get fit and muscular without using any kind of equipment in their homes.
