ZAGREB, January 31, 2018 – The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has upheld the indictments against 11 former members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) for war crimes against Bosniaks, committed as part of a joint criminal enterprise in the Mostar area in 1993 and 1994, the news website Dnevnik.ba said on Wednesday.
The accused are charged with involvement in widespread and systematic HVO attacks on Bosniak civilians with the aim of expelling them from Croatian-controlled territory. They were involved in an attack in which more than 70 Bosniak civilians were illegally arrested and taken to the Vojno camp outside Mostar where the prisoners were subjected to torture and humiliation.
