ZAGREB, April 24, 2018 – Prosecutorial authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday reported that the police conducted an operation on early Tuesday morning to break a ring of traffickers who organised the transport of illegal migrants, and more than a score of people were arrested during the operation.
The police operation was coordinated with Croatia’s authorities, EUROPOL and the International Organisation for Migrations.
The arrestees were apprehended on suspicion that they illegally transported up to 200 Western Europe-bound irregular migrants from Bosnia to Croatia since the start of this year.
Irregular migrants, most of whom came from Turkey and Kosovo, were forced to pay more than 5,000 euro for their illegal transportation, according to the Bosnian prosecutorial authorities’ information.
