ZAGREB, March 19, 2018 – The United Kingdom will lift restrictions on access to its labour market for Croatian workers on July 1, the Croatian government announced in a press release on Monday.
British Prime Minister Theresa May informed her Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković of this decision in a letter on Monday. The restrictions were put in place in mid-2013 in accordance with Croatia’s EU accession treaty.
As of July 1, Croatian nationals will have the same rights of access to the UK labour market as other EU citizens. Reciprocally, Croatia will lift restrictions on British workers.
Restrictions on Croatian workers are still in place in Austria, the Netherlands and Slovenia.
