The Croatian Football Federation proudly confirms that a friendly match between Croatia and Brazil, the five-time world champion, has been confirmed.

The Croatian Football Federation has agreed to the conditions for a spectacular friendly match between Croatia and Brazil. Croatia will face-off against Brazil in England on June 3, 2018, at 15:00 in England (16:00 Croatia time), in an essential test for both teams ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Russia. The English venue and ticket sales will be announced at a later date, announced HNS on March 19, 2018.

Croatia’s last test before Russia will be against Senegal on June 8, 2018, in Osijek. Croatia will play against four World Cup teams – Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Senegal – before the tournament,

Brazil is a five-time world champion and the most successful team in the history of the World Cup. They are currently the second team in the world according to the FIFA ranking and include a side of the world’s best football stars including the most expensive player in the world, Neymar.

“Brazil is the most attractive and most sought after team in the world and it makes me proud that we have managed to achieve such a spectacle. It will be great preparation for the World Cup, a real test for our team and an amazing promotion for our national team and Croatian football. I’m sure our fans will enjoy the game as well as viewers from all over the world, as it’s one of the best and strongest matches before the start of the World Cup. Also, I am delighted to host the Senegal national team in Osijek, and I’m sure our team will be in the best possible form at the World Cup,” said HNS president Davor Šuker.

Croatia has played Brazil three times so far. In a friendly match in Split in 2005 they drew 1:1, while Brazil celebrated twice in the World Cup – in 2006 Brazil won 1:0 in Berlin, and in 2014 at the opening of the World Cup in Brazil the home team won 3:1.

“I wanted tough battles ahead of Russia, and there is no stronger team than Brazil, so I’m pleased with this deal. Brazil is so good that just in a friendly match we can feel what is waiting for us at the World Cup in Russia. I believe in the strength of Croatia, and we want to be able to play in Russia with the strongest selection – a better test than what we have agreed to with this game simply does not exist,” said the Croatian national team Zlatko Dalić.
