HDZ and SDP are the two most popular parties in northern Slavonia.
RTL and Jutarnji List have continued with their poll of ten parliamentary constituencies. On Sunday evening, they announced the results of the poll for the fourth constituency, which covers northern part of Slavonia, including Osijek, reports RTL on August 28, 2016.
At last year’s elections, HDZ coalition won 36.0 percent of votes, followed by SDP coalition (29.2 percent), HDSSB (11.6 percent), MOST (10.7 percent), and Živi Zid (4.9 percent). HDZ coalition won 6 seats in Parliament, SDP coalition 5 seats, HDSSB 2 seats, and MOST 1 seat.
According to the poll, 58 percent of voters in this constituency plan to vote on 11 September. Among those who will vote, HDZ wins 31.7 percent of vote, SDP coalition 29.1 perent, HDSSB coalition 10.5 percent, MOST 6.5 percent and Živi Zid 4.1 percent.
Although there would be no change in distribution of seats in Parliament, looking at percentages, HDZ’s lead ahead of SDP coalition has decreased substantially (from 6.8 percent to 2.6 percent), while MOST’s share of votes has been almost halved. As in almost all other constituencies, Živi Zid is just below the five percent electoral threshold, so it is quite possible that it could win MPs in at least some of parliamentary constituencies.
After polls conducted in five of ten constituencies, HDZ has the same number of seats as in last Parliament, SDP coalition has two seats more and MOST has two seats less. Smaller parties have not gained nor lost a seat.
On Monday evening, results for the tenth constituency (central and southern Dalmatia) will be announced.
