Retired Generals Gotovina and Markač Receive Presidential Decorations

ZAGREB, August 3, 2018 – On the occasion of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Veterans, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović at her discretion on Friday decorated retired Croatian Colonel Generals Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač, the Office of the Croatian President said in a press release.

Pursuant to the President’s decision, 96 members of the armed forces were promoted to a higher rank and 14 were decorated, the President’s Office has reported.

In addition to the promotions the President, in her capacity as the Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces, commended eight members of the armed forces for their contribution and achieving above-average results in doing their duty.
