Todorić: ”Not One Reason for Passing of Lex Agrokor Existed”

Lauren Simmonds

According to the ex Agrokor boss, Lex Agrokor is unconstitutional in the eyes of various legal experts.

Ivica Todorić claims that Lex Agrokor has been deemed to be unconstitutional by legal experts, and that it was passed without there being a reason to do so, and under unsavoury circumstances.

We bring you the former Agrokor majority boss’ blog post, written on the 9th of January, 2018, translated in full into English below:

”There’s no doubt, and that is the opinion of eminent legal experts, that Lex Agrokor is unconstitutional. But, aside from that terrible fact, it’s even worse that it was brought in (passed) under the pressure of interest groups without there even being any actual reason to do so.

That was, in the presentation in the government before its passing, clearly demonstrated by Martina Dalić, who is one of the ideologues and drivers of the idea of Lex [Agrokor], politically naïve and disastrous for the country, accepted and supported by Prime Minister Plenković. Therefore, it’s necessary once again, in one place, to recall [remind ourselves of] all of the relevant facts that there were no reasons for the passing of the most recent law in the modern Europe at all. You can find and verify the facts that I’m referring to by clicking on the links.

Why even bring in Lex Agrokor? Were financial interests really the trigger of the political decision of Prime Minister Plenković and Martina Dalić? Was it a decisive interest in geopolitical games that the government was forced to enforce?

Regardless of the responses, more frightening damages to the Croatian economy have been made, synergies have been lost in the system throughout the region, and the gateway to an unseen crime of epic proportions is wide open. And it’s [taking place] on stolen private assets.”
