July the 1st, 2025 – Tourism Minister Tonci Glavina has stated that revenue earned from foreign tourists in Croatia has grown by almost 80% in the first quarter of the year since 2019.
Croatia has transformed into one of Europe’s most desirable countries for tourism over the last decade or so, with people flocking from across the globe to the dazzling coastline and islands. In addition to the lure of sunshine and sea, more and more people have discovered the bustling capital of Zagreb, gorgeous Lika and Gorski Kotar, and even the vast, flat swathes of Slavonia and Baranja.
Croatia is truly one of the world’s tourism stars, and while there’s plenty of negatives such fame brings, the revenue from foreign tourists visiting Croatia can’t be interpreted as anything but extremely positive.

As Morski writes, according to data from the Croatian National Bank (CNB), in the first quarter of 2025, revenue from foreign tourists visiting Croatia amounted to a staggering 865.5 million euros.
This represents solid growth of 6.65 percent when compared to the same period in 2024, equal to 54 million euros more in revenue.
While the focus has historically been on the height of the scorching summer season, Croatian tourism actually appears to achieve the most significant financial growth of all during the pre-season. This was confirmed by the fact that from the pre-pandemic year of 2019 to the present day, an increase in revenue from foreign tourists in Croatia during the first quarter of the year has been recorded. It stands at almost 80%.

“This indicates the extremely strong potential of the pre-season period and the resilience of Croatian tourism in the face of issues and constantly changing global conditions,” stated Tourism Minister Tonči Glavina. He also made no attempt to hide his satisfaction with the realised tourist turnover during the first part of the year so far. In that, Croatia has managed to achieve 4% better results when compared to the same period last year.
