Croats in NBA: Bojan Bogdanović and Ivica Zubac Make the Playoffs

The regular season of the NBA league is now over, and Croatia will have two representatives in the playoffs – Bojan Bogdanović and Ivica Zubac.

The LA Clippers clinched their playoff spot with a win against Utah Jazz in the regular season on Wednesday night. Croatian basketball player Ivica Zubac contributed to the victory with a double-double; in 30 minutes on the court Zubac scored 22 points (shots in play 10/13), with 11 rebounds, two assists and three blocks, reports Gol.hr on April 11, 2019.

Montrezl Harrell was the best for the Clippers with 24 points, while rookie Grayson Allen led Utah with 40 points.

After Wednesday’s games, all the playoff pairs are known.

The Minnesota Timberwolves finished their regular season with a defeat, losing 99:95 to the Denver Nuggets.

Dario Šarić played solid in the defeat of his team, and on the court for 29 minutes, he scored 11 points (shots in play 4/13, three-pointers 0/5) with seven rebounds and three assists.

This victory pushed Denver (54-28) to the second place in the Western Conference. In the first round of the playoffs, they will face the San Antonio Spurs. The best for the Nuggets was Nikola Jokić with 29 points, while Andrew Wiggins was the best for Minnesota with 25 points.

The New York Knicks lost in the last game of the regular season to the Detroit Pistons (115:89) who secured a place in the playoffs (41-41).

Luke Kennard scored 27 points as Detroit Piston’s best scorer, while John Jenkins was the best for the Knicks with 16 points. Mario Hezonja played 21 minutes for New York without a point, though he added three rebounds, four assists, and three steals. 

Detroit, who is the eighth-placed team in the Eastern Conference, will play against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs.

The Indiana Pacers overcame the Atlanta Hawks 135:134 and Croatian star Bojan Bogdanović did not enter the game. Indiana (48-34), the fifth-placed team in the Eastern Conference, will play against the four-placed Boston Celtics (49-33) in the playoffs.
