Chinese Club Offers Dalić Contract Worth 8 Million Euro Per Year?

No Croatian coach has seen an offer of this scale yet.

Two and a half months after Croatia’s historic World Cup achievement, Zlatko Dalić remains at the helm of the ‘Silver Generation’. But could one really enticing offer change his mind?

According to official information from the Far East, an unknown Chinese First League club has offered the current Croatia coach a lucrative contract he might not be able to refuse, reports Index.hr on October 4, 2018.

With generous bonuses – including prizes if he wins the league and the Cup – Zlatko Dalić could earn 30 million euro over three years if he chose to part ways with Luka Modrić & Co. Namely, Dalić would be promised 8 million euro net per season. Given the severity of the bid, the Chinese club insists on Dalić’s response by the end of this week.

Fortunately, we know that Zlatko Dalić has consistently refused the official offers of the Egypt, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Japan, Iran and South Korea national teams this year – and in agreement with the Croatia Football Federation in August, Dalić’s mandate as the Croatia coach was extended until the end of the European Championship in 2020.

However, in the event Dalić accepts the rich and unusual offer of the anonymous Chinese club, he would become the highest paid Croatian coach, raking in 8 million euro per season. Currently, Niko Kovač is the highest-earning Croatian coach, who brings in an annual salary between 5 and 6 million euro at Bayern Munich.
