Marin Čilić has entered the quarterfinals of the ATP tour in Paris, but more importantly, his win over Belgian David Goffin 6:3, 7:6 (9) secured his participation in the ATP finals in London. Čilić won after an hour and 53 minutes of play against the Belgian, who was better than Čilić three times this year, Večernji List reported on November 3, 2016.
The match saw seven serve breaks (four by Marin) and many oscillations in the Čilić’s game. Marin took advantage of his sixth match point, although in the 13th game of the second set he was up by 6:3. In the end he won in the tie-break with 11:9.
