Croatian Football League, Day 32 Match Preview – Clash Of The Season to Be Played in Rijeka

Total Croatia News

It is the mid-week round in CFL, the clash of the season will be played between Rijeka and Dinamo.

Croatian football league is getting close to its finish, and the pace has gone up. Since the EURO is approaching, there is a mid-week round starting today, April 19, 2016. The clash of the round, and the whole season will be played in Rijeka tonight, as Rijeka and Dinamo will meet on the sold out Rujevica Stadium, probably to resolve the question of who will be the champion this season.

There are more exciting matches in this round, so here is the preview of all the games to be played in round 32 of the CFL:

ZAGREB – SPLIT – Zagreb – Tuesday, 17.00 CET

Split has drawn their last four matches in the league, so if they want to contest Lokomotiva for Europa League qualification, they need a win in this game. Zagreb is playing just for its pride here, so it would be a huge blow for the guests if they do not win today.

RIJEKA – DINAMO – Rijeka – Tuesday, 20.00 CET

Rijeka is dreaming of the title, the stadium is sold out days before kickoff, and the home supporters are hoping that their team will show much more than in the last match against Dinamo in Zagreb. On the other side, Dinamo is in a more comfortable situation, as they will have all in their hands even if they lose this one. There were some pre-match announcements by both coaches about the referee nominated for the game, as it will be Bruno Marić, who has directed the Hajduk – Dinamo match in the fall, not making anybody happy with his refereeing. If Dinamo does not lose tonight, the title is sure to stay in Zagreb once again. Apart from the most optimistic Rijeka fans, most football lovers think that this will be the case even if Rijeka wins.

INTER – ISTRA 1961 – Zaprešić – Wednesday, 17.00 CET

The home team has no worries in terms of their place on the table, and it would take a miracle for Istra to avoid relegation play-off games at the end of the season. If they are hoping for this miracle, a win here is a must for them.

HAJDUK – LOKOMOTIVA – Split – Wednesday, 19.00 CET

Always an exciting match, or even a controversial one, as Hajduk is appealing to the authorities that Lokomotiva should not even be a part of the Croatian League One, being Dinamo’s second team. Lokomotiva, having more than a few Dinamo players on the roster, is always motivated against Hajduk, and as the home team would secure the Europa League spot with a win here, it should once again be the one to watch.

OSIJEK – SLAVEN BELUPO – Osijek – Thursday, 19.00 CET

Osijek is not secure from relegation, so they will search for points here against the team that will be trying out the venue of their most important match of the season; Cup Finals against Dinamo, which will be played in Osijek. The home team will already know the result from Zaprešić, so if the news is to be good, they will have some peace entering the match.
