A popular Croatian sports journalist is marking the 106th birthday of Hajduk with a trip to New York.
Sports journalist and reporter for HRT, Mirta Šurjak has brought a piece of one of Croatia’s most famous football clubs with her stateside.
As Hajduk will be celebrating their 106th birthday on February 13, Šurjak surprised her nearly 45k Instagram followers with a photo of the famous Hajduk Split scarf in NYC.
The caption of the photo reads “Each part of the world for Hajduk Split. New York today is painted in white.” The photo was taken in Manhattan on February 9, 2017.
Later that evening, Šurjak headed to New Rochelle, New York to meet the New York fans of Hajduk Split.
“An unforgettable evening with the New York lovers of Hajduk. Accompanied by the Assistant Sporting Director of Hajduk Saša Bjelanović.”
