Dubrovnik’s VK Jug Crowned Water Polo Champions of Europe

More European sporting success for Croatia in Budapest on June 4, 2016. 

VK Jug, the famous water polo club from Dubrovnik have been declared the champions of Europe after todays match in Budapest, Hungary against Greek Olympiakos.

Jug have boasted a great many highly talented water polo players throughout their very many years of successful existence and this is the fourth time they have won this honour since 1981.

The final match in the Final Six Tournament took place today in Budapest in which Jug defeated Greek Olympiakos with a final score of 6:4.

Currently, VK Jug competes in the Croatian First League of Water Polo and in the Adriatic Water Polo League. The highly successful club was established in 1923 as part of the sports society JUG. Notable gifted players from VK Jug’s past include Hrvoje Kacic, Bozo Vuletic and Vladimir Ivkovic.
