HNS Announces Friendly Match Against Estonia this March

The match will be held in Estonia’s capital after the 2018 World Cup Qualifying match against Ukraine in Croatia. 

The Croatian national football team will play a friendly match on March 28 against Estonia in Tallinn, Estonia’s capital city. The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) announced the match on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 .

Ante Čačić and his team will continue their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign against Ukraine on March 24 in Zagreb. Four days later, the team will travel to Estonia to play an international friendly in the Estonian capital. 

This will be the third friendly clash between Croatia and Estonia. In the first two, in 2010 and 2012, Croatia drew 0:0 in Tallinn, and won 3:1 in Pula.

In addition, Croatia and Estonia have played six official matches in three different qualification cycles. The Croatian national team’s first qualifying match in history (for Euro 1996) occurred precisely in Tallinn on September 4, 1994 where Croatia won 2:0. In the second qualification match for Euro 1996, Croatia beat Estonia 7:1. During Euro 2004 qualifications, Estonia managed to draw 0:0, followed by a 1:0 win for Croatia, and in the qualifying matches for Euro 2008, Croatia claimed two victories with a 1:0 win and a 2:0 win.
