October 28, 2024 – Coach Zlatko Dalić invited 25 players and put six on standby for Croatia’s UEFA Nations League matches against Scotland and Portugal in November.

Croatia will finish the first part of the competition in November against Scotland (November 15 in Glasgow) and Portugal (November 18 in Split). After four rounds, Croatia is in second place with seven points, behind Portugal (10 points) and ahead of Poland (4) and Scotland (1). The first two spots lead to the quarter-finals, the third-placed team goes to the playoffs to stay in League A, and the last team will move to League B.

Dalić remained faithful to the squad he used in October. The player list also includes four goalkeepers as we await the Disciplinary Commission’s decision on possible additional punishment for Dominik Livaković, who earned a red card against Poland and an automatic one-game suspension.

“At the moment, several players are in the process of returning to the pitch after injuries, so we will closely monitor the situation in the next two weeks, react accordingly and make decisions about possible new calls. At the same time, we did not deliberately expand the list with players from the young national team, so that the U-21s will have the best possible team against Georgia,” coach Dalić noted.

“We put ourselves in a good situation ahead of the last games of the year, and now we need to take advantage of that and achieve our goal, which is the quarter-finals. The full focus is on the match against Scotland. Then we will think about Portugal in Split, where a spectacle awaits us in front of a full Poljud,” Dalić added.

The national team will gather on Monday, November 11th in Zagreb, where they will train until November 14th, when they travel to Glasgow. The day after the match against Scotland, Croatia will travel to Split, where they will face Portugal on November 18th.

Croatia defends its silver medal from the previous edition of the Nations League, winning its group with France, Denmark and Austria. Croatia defeated the Netherlands in the semi-finals and lost to Spain in the final.
